Meatball Sliders are tossed in a little marinara sauce, topped with cheese, and toasted to perfection in the oven. Always a crowd pleasing appetizer!
MEATBALL SLIDERS RECIPE
I was looking for a way to use some meatballs I had left over from my BBQ Grape Meatballsand thought these Meatball Sliders would be perfect Super Bowl food.
Meatballs tossed in a little marinara sauce, topped with cheese, and toasted to perfection in the oven.
HOW TO MAKE MEATBALL SLIDERS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9X13 pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
Warm the meatballs in the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Separate the dinner rolls or hot dog buns and place one saucy meatball on the bottom roll. Top with mozzarella or provolone. Place the top roll on and push down slightly. Place meatball slider in the pan and continue to assemble the rest of the sliders.
Microwave butter in a bowl in the microwave until melted. Add garlic powder and Italian seasonings and mix well. Brush tops of buns with melted butter mixture.
Cover rolls with foil and bake for 10 minutes or until cheese melts. Take foil off and cook for 2-3 minutes more if you want the tops toasty.
MEATBALL MARINARA SUB RECIPE
You can even use hot dog buns (I like Martin’s)cut in thirds for slider buns which makes this appetizer super affordable.

Hi! The recipe calls for frozen meatballs that have been thawed, but I’m unsure of whether or not this assumes they were cooked before being frozen. I find that most frozen meatballs come pre-cooked, but not all. So does the recipe assume they are already cooked (and frozen and thawed) before going into the oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees?

Christy,
What a great recipe! My kids love meatballs and I am always looking for easy and fun food to serve when we have casual get togethers. I will certainly try these next time we have a party and let you know how they turn out!!

Kirkland meatballs are fantastic for this. I also like using King’s Hawaiian rolls for these as well.

Oh my gosh…this is brilliant! My husband and I have recently been loving meatball sandwiches AND any type of sliders (like your ham and cheese sliders…HUGE hit! :D). I love your idea of using hot dog buns b/c those slider buns are so hard to find! Plus adding the butter and garlic to the top….PERFECT! Can’t wait to make these, my husband will freak out!! 🙂

these look so yummy!! and to answer your question the only half decent lens i have is the 50mm 1.8… which isn’t much at all! i am wanting to get a couple other ones that i have my eye on but i think i might upgrade my camera first and don’t wanna invest in the lenses til i do cause it’ll be a different brand. if you need a good one though, i have heard nothing but amazing things about the 50mm 1.4 and the 24-70mm 2.8.

Sliders are the best because you can eat 20 of them and not feel as bad as eating one big burger. Funny how that works, lol.
